Canucks GM Patrik Allvin Answers If He Will Trade J.T. Miller or Elias Pettersson Over Intensifying Drama
Vancouver Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin comments on the possibilities of trading either J.T. Miller or Elias Pettersson amidst the drama and bad blood between them.
With the NHL roster freeze fully into effect, the Vancouver Canucks are going to have to wait until after the holidays in order to upgrade their team, but Patrik Allvin has hinted at the possibilities that both Miller and Pettersson are not safe from being moved to another club.
Patrik Allvin Reveals if he is willing to trade some of the Vancouver Canucks biggest stars
After winning the Pacific Division last season, and head coach Rick Tocchet winning the Jack Adams for the best coach in the NHL, the the expectations for this team heading into the 2024-2025 season have never been higher.
With only winning half the games so far this season, it has been a a disappointment to say the least, but the biggest issue that seems to have come out is the culture has shifted.
Patrik Allvin commented on the entire team, saying how they need to be better, but with all the rumors and issues involving J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson fans want answers if there is a chance one of them may get traded.
He told The Province that he is always looking to see what is out on the market, and if he feels there is a benefit of moving on from one of them, he is not opposed to doing anything to make the team better.
"I mean, we're always looking to see what's out there and available," he said as to whether he thinks he'll need to make a trade to change up the top end of his group. "I'm always interested in making this team
better." "At the end of the day, you are only going to go as far as your leadership group is leading," he said. And it's not about points, it's about
mentality."
Nonetheless, it is certain that Patrik Allvin would not ideally trade either one of them, but when there are two of your top players causing major distractions and rifts within a locker room, change is 100% in order.
Whatever the outcome, Canucks will have to wait until after December 27th when the NHL roster freeze ceases to be in effect.
