The Vancouver Canucks are a tight-knit group, especially after making a deep run in the Stanley Cup Playoffs back in the spring. Being a tight-knit group allows for some friendly banter and chirping back-and-forth between teammates, something Filip Hronek and Conor Garland do quite often during practices.
Filip Hronek recently sat down for an interview with Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, which aired on Hockey Night in Canada on Saturday, where the Czech defenceman shared a hilarious chirp exchange that he had with Conor Garland.
While the two have had more friendlier exchanges in practice, back in March, things got heated in a drill where Filip Hronek and Conor Garland came to blows and needed to be separated by now-Utah Hockey Club defenceman Ian Cole.
Since joining the Canucks organization via a trade with the Detroit Red Wings, Filip Hronek has shown everyone that he's capable of being a top pairing defenceman in the National Hockey League and can handle the responsibilities that comes with that. Many are wondering if Hronek can take his game to another level this season and potentially even reach the 50-point plateau after setting a career-high in points with 48 last year.
So far this season, Hronek has had a bit of a slow start, registering just one assist in five games, but there's no need to panic. through his first five games last season, he had three assists, finishing the month of October with eight, before going on a tear in November, putting up 15 points (two goals, 13 assists) in 15 games.
