Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov packed their studies and joined the Big Bad Bruins, but Allvin wasted no time replacing them. He went on to add Jake Debrusk, Danton Henein, Daniel Sprong, and Kiefer Sherwood, and we might even get to see Jonathan Lekkerimaki in action in the NHL.
Clearly holding a grudge against the Canucks and their fans, the insider Frank Servailli was on Oilers Now and decorated that there wasn't even an argument that could be made. There's no way in the Canucks are better now, then what they were during the playoffs last year:
While the Canucks' may have lost big pieces in Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov, they acquired pieces that could be much better complement to their stars in Jake Debrusk and Danton Heinen. If you factor in the team's prospects who could very well be ready to take the next step in Aatu Raty and Jonathan Lekkerimäki, it creates a mix that could be a much bigger threat.
Where the question mark truly appears, is on the blue line. Will the Canucks have the depth it takes to be as dominant defensively? Will Vincent Desharnais be as good and police the ice as good as Zadorov did? The team's lack of puck moving skills in their two bottom pairs is the reason for many question marks. Regardless, we know that Patrik Allvin will be able to adress the areas that need improvements, just like he did last year.
