We know the Canucks are in a tough spot when it comes to contracts coming to an end. Now that the biggest case has been dealt with, Allvin can now move on to the next, being Filip Hronek.

Acquired at last year's deadline, the defenceman has been excellent since he made his Canuck debut. Thus far, both parties have been extremely satisfied with each other and there are no indications that an agreement won't be reached.

A pending restricted free agent, there was no rush for Allvin to get Hronek extended whatsoever, but as he tries to budget his money allocations for next year. He definitely wants to get the bigger deals out of the way as soon as possible.

Following his post trade deadline press conference, Patrik Allvin went on a media tour during which he confirmed, on Canucks Central, that a first offer had been extended to the Czech blueliner:

Allvin said he thinks they tabled a "fair offer" for @walsha client Filip Hronek.

He refused to say if it was short or long term deal.

Many insiders have already stated that the belief was that his next deal's AAV would start with an 8. Insiders closer to the Canucks have also made it clear that wasn't something management was willing to do.

Coming off a bridge deal that awarded him an annual $4.4M over three years, Hronek will also be coming off a career year since he already has 45 points through 65 games. His previous lone-season best was 39.
