In recent days, the Vancouver Canucks have seen Brock Boeser suffer an injury against the Los Angeles Kings, with his status for today's game unclear, and have traded Daniel Sprong to the Seattle Kraken.
If Brock Boeser isn't able to play tonight, that would've left the Vancouver Canucks with just ten forwards on their NHL roster. But Patrik Allvin has decided to call a pair of forwards up from the Abbotsford Canucks.
On Saturday morning, Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin announced that they've called up forwards Arshdeep Bains and Nils Aman from the Abbotsford Canucks of the American Hockey League.
Bains, 23, has skated in seven games for the Canucks this season, registering one goal and is a minus-three. In his lone appearance with the Abbotsford Canucks, the Surrey native has three points.
Aman, a native of Avesta, Sweden, has two assists in four games with the Vancouver Canucks this season, along with two assists in two games with AHL Abbotsford.
We'll have to wait and see later on today if Arshdeep Bains and/or Nils Aman are in the Canucks' lineup for tonight's game against the Edmonton Oilers. It'll also be interesting to see if Dakota Joshua is ready to go, as he's been ramping things up within the last week.
Puck drop for tonight's game against the Edmonton Oilers is set for 7 pm PT and can be viewed across Canada on CBC and Sportsnet.
