The News is just in. The Canucks will be sanctioned by the NHL for violating the CBA agreements regarding off-season training rules for players:
'Sources say the #Canucks have been fined $50k by the #NHL for violating offseason training rules for players.''
Once the season comes to an end, the Canucks aren't allowed to conduct practices. From April 17th to April 23rd, up to 6 players took part in team-mandated events with the Twins.
'Basically teams can make their facilities available to players in the summer and tell them when strength coaches will be there, but certainly can't require or even encourage attendance by players.
If players want to skate, hockey ops or coaches cannot attend.''
We'll update you once we know more.
