LATEST | Former Canuck opens up on a possible return with the team
The Canucks are expected to be active in free agency and on the trade market this summer.
Donnie and Dhali hosted the former Canuck defenceman and BC. native, Troy Stetcher. After a successful NCAA stint, Stetcher signed an entry-level contract with his hometown team with which he spent 4 seasons.
Stetcher then split his time between the Detroit Red Wings, the LA Kings, the Arizona Coyotes, and most recently, the Flames. Rick Dhaliwal asked him whether or not he'd like for the Canucks to reach out on July 1st:
''I will talk to my agent, we will research teams and see what they need, see who has a winning culture and who is in a rebuilding phase, and go from there.''
Stetcher is a skilled two-way defenseman who has yet to find his niche in the NHL. A right-handed shot defenseman that could be a good depth option for the Canucks, his career-best season came when he was just a rookie with the Canucks. He had then collected 24 points in 71 games.
At this point, the Canucks already have Hronek and Bear on the right side (given that Tyler Myers will be shipped off), do the Canucks really need another smaller-sized defenseman?
