Luke DeCock, a Carolina sports reporter, shocked the Hockey community when he revealed that the Hurricanes would be considering moving two of their young studs:
Jack Drury, 23-year-old centerman who's clearly ready to take the next step in his career and have a full-time gig at the game's highest level. He registered only 8 points in 38 games with the Canes, but given a proper opportunity he could definitely bloom. He managed 52 points in 68 AHL games in 2021-2022.
The second name out there, Martin Necas, while this one may be coming off as a surprise the 2017 1st Round Selection (12th) will be commanding a hefty raise at the end of 2023-2024 and there seems to be discord between the two parties on the next AAV. Necas exploded this year and registered 71 points in 82 games, known to be just as good on the wing and down the middle, he's only 24 years old.
There are no estimated price for either names, however, if the Canes consider putting one of these name out. They aren't going to sell low. The Canucks, in the midst of a ''retooling'', could benefit tons from moving a prospect and perhaps a pick for an alreayd developed forward.
Should Allvin pay the big price and go all-in for Necas? Or should he play the conservative game and take Drury who still needs development in his game?
