A scary incident occurred during Game 1 between the Vegas Golden Knights and Winnipeg Jets that caused a player to receive a ton of stitches to his head.

Late in the first period, there was a scramble for the puck in front of the Golden Knights' net and Jets forward Morgan Barron, with Chandler Stephenson right on his back, fell and his face made direct contact with the skate of goaltender Laurent Brossoit.

Barron's face was dripping with blood and he immediately skated off the ice and went to the Jets' dressing room for repairs. At that point, everyone was more concerned about Barron's health instead of if he would return to the game, but then the unimaginable happened.

During the second period, Barron made a return to the game, sporting a cage on his helmet, as well as 75 (!!!) stitches to his head. He downplayed the incident after the game and told reporters that as long as he could see out of his eye, then all was good.

"It's actually not bad. They did a great job stitching me up and, obviously, it missed my eye. I was glad it didn't get me in a real bad spot, but they did a great job fixing me up," Barron said.

He added, "I was trying to figure out if the puck went in. It was sitting pretty close and, obviously, I saw the skate coming and it was just an unlucky play, a little bit unfortunate. The first thought was, 'I could see out of the eye, so that was the main thing.'"

Barron and the Jets will look to take a 2-0 series lead against the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday night with puck drop set for just after 10 p.m. ET.
