Even after signing the free agent Teddy Blueger, the Canucks are still very active on the market as they were hunting down a bonafide third line centerman.

The Philadelphia Flyers have been heavy seller ever since Daniel Briere took over as the team GM, and they probably own the best bargain for a 3rd line pivot in the NHL in Scott Laughton.

The Nucks have shown prior interest in the 29-year-old, but it appears that the going rate for the centerman is absurd. A report from Frank Seravalli revealed that the Flyers had turned down a massive haul from the St. Louis Blues:

- Pick 25 or 29 of the 2023 NHL Draft
- 2nd Round Selection 2024 Draft

Laughton collected 43 points in 71 games during the last campaign and is signed at $3M for the next 3 campaigns. If the going rate for bonafide 3rd centerman is this high, perhaps it's time they consider internal solutions to fix their roster holes?
