BREAKING | Chicago Blackhawks make official announcement regarding Connor Bedard: He has signed his entry-level-contract
The Chicago Blackhawks announced on Monday that they've agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract worth $2.85 million ($950,000 AAV) with 2023 first-overall pick Connor Bedard.
Bedard, who turned 18 on Monday, had an exceptional year in the Western Hockey League with the Regina Pats, putting up 143 points (71 goals, 72 assists), 62 penalty minutes and was a plus-39. He followed that up by recording 20 points in seven playoff games.
The North Vancouver native's time on the international stage this past season was no slouch either, setting multiple Canadian World Junior records. He led the 2023 tournament in points with 23 in seven games, was named MVP and helped Canada win their second gold medal in a row.
Just like they did with Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews, the Chicago Blackhawks have an incredibly talented player on their hands and with Bedard on their roster, it shouldn't take them long to turn things around and become playoff contenders once again.
