LATEST | Bo Horvat praised for his leadership over disgracious act from Islanders players and their staff
Often blamed for his lack of leadership or for the culture he had been trying to implement within the Canucks' organization, Bo Horvat has taken lots of heat since he left the team in that regard.
However, yesterday, he may have proven the exact opposite at the expense of the majority of his teammates. The Islanders suffered a heartbreaking loss with 7 seconds remaining against the Predators, and they scored an empty netter in the following moments.
With the exception of the five players taking the draw, the netminder and Bo Horvat. Every other Islander left for the dressing room, even the staff members. It caused a stir amongst the fans, but Bo Horvat is being praised for standing by his teammates:
Bo Horvat was evidently the scapegoat in Vancouver, perhaps he was judged to harshly? Was he the best captain for this team, maybe no? Was he a bad leader for it, absolutely not.
