The Vancouver Canucks are coming off one of their most disappointing seasons in recent memory - a sharp contrast to the promise they showed just a year prior. And no one seems more determined to turn things around than captain Quinn Hughes.

It's safe to say this past season in one the Canucks would rather forget. After falling short of the playoffs despite sky-high expectations, Hughes is already focused on making sure history doesn't repeat itself next year.
Known for leading by example, the Norris Trophy winner is stepping up in a massive way this offseason.
To rally his teammates and set the tone early, Quinn Hughes has invited several Canucks to join him in one of his "legendary" offseason workouts.

Quinn Hughes' leadership goes beyond just words - he's showing his teammates what it takes to get back on track.
While he's widely known as a quiet leader on the ice, his off-season leadership is anything but.
Head coach Rick Tocchet caught wind of the offseason workouts - and he didn't hold back when it came to praising his captain.
«He's already thinking about his training,» explained Rick Tocchet today. «This is the guy you want on your teamhe's going to have a couple of his teammates train with him in his elite group of guys who train. That's what a leader does, and that's what he's thinking about.»

Quinn Hughes also emphasized just how important the offseason truly is. While it might be tempting for some players to kick back, hit the golf course, and relax, Hughes views this time as a crucial window to elevate his game
«I've always been a big believer you can take big steps in the summer,» said Hughes. «Over the course of my career, just finishing my sixth year, continuing to get better and I think that summer really helps. I know last year in the summer, a big thing for me was that I knew I wasn't going to have the All-Star Break with 4 Nations and different things and try to stay healthythis summer is going to be big on just trying to make my body feel as good as it possibly can.»

It should be interesting to see the Vancouver Canucks perform next year after such a lengthy offseason.
Nonetheless, Quinn Hughes seems determined to make sure the Canucks are ready.
More details to follow.
