Former Vancouver Canucks forward Brandon Prust was a guest on the Missin' Curfew podcast this week and shared a wild story about his former coach, John Tortorella and Brad Richards from when he was with the New York Rangers.

"I remember when Richie got to New York, it was the first year, Richie and I became good buddies and Richie started off a little slow and we started off a little slow and Torts, you know, being Torts, this guy probably didn't sleep right if we were losing.

So, we're out after the game one night and Torts must've called Richie on the way home and Richie comes in, we're going for dinner, and and he says 'Torts just called me, he told me to do drugs and stuff'. And I was like, oh this is going to be a good night."

Tortorella is known for his wild antics behind the bench and to hear a story like this is crazy, even if he may have just been joking to Brad Richards. Richards and Tortorella had plenty of history together prior to being with the New York Rangers, as they were apart of the Tampa Bay Lightning's first-ever Stanley Cup championship in 2004.

It would be interesting to see if there are any similar stories like this about Torts from former players, especially during his time with the Vancouver Canucks.
