The off-season is slowly winding down and training camps are set to open within the next four weeks, which means we have a very, very early look at the playoff odds for the 2023-24 season.

According to the oddsmakers, Betway, released their regular season point total and when looking at the Pacific Division, they have the Canucks in sixth place, which would have them missing out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the fourth straight season.

Pacific Division regular season point total from Betway

Edmonton Oilers (105.5 points)
Vegas Golden Knights (103.5 points)
Los Angeles Kings (101.5 points)
Seattle Kraken (94.5 points)
Calgary Flames (94.5 points)
Vancouver Canucks (88.5 points)
Anaheim Ducks (67.5 points)
San Jose Sharks (66.5 points)

Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin has had a fairly busy summer bringing in four pieces to help the NHL roster by signing Teddy Blueger, Ian Cole, Carson Soucy and Pius Suter, all of whom should make an impact in their own ways.

Combine those additions with the strong core of Elias Pettersson, Quinn Hughes, J.T. Miller, Brock Boeser and Thatcher Demko and the Canucks should improve on how they did last season, but it'll be interesting to see how things play out later in the season, especially in March, as fatigue starts to hit teams.
