'3 Weeks' - NHL Insider Darren Dreger Reveals Exact Time Frame of Quinn Hughes' Absence
Once a week, NHL insider and TSN analyst Darren Dreger makes an appearance on the very popular Vancouver Canucks podcast Sekeres and Price to give his take on a lot of the popular narratives facing the team, but also divulges some information that he has heard that is not already public knowledge.
On the most recent episode, he gave his perspective of the injuries facing captain Quinn Hughes and superstar forward Elias Pettersson.
After what seems to be the common theme around any story with the Vancouver Canucks where information, details and any transparency is hard to come by, Darren Dreger disclosed the timeline he is hearing from his sources.
«Devastating. I checked in on it yesterday, and the thought is that it should be, you know, three weeks or less. That was the sense that I got, so that's week-to-week.
«What you have to understand, it's not in the best interest of the Vancouver Canucks or Quinn Hughes to push whatever he's dealing with, right? So, if it takes three weeks to get him healthy, I don't think that the alarm bells should be ringing, unless this team drives the 18-wheeler over the cliff.»
Quinn Hughes is by far the best and most consistent player on the Canucks who seemed to be rolling to his 2nd consecutive Norris trophy this season.
He has 8 goals and 34 assists for 42 points and averages just 25:08 minutes of ice time per game. If it were not for this injury Hughes was on pace 19 goals and 82 assists for 101 points, which would easily secure the Norris trophy, and even possibly the Hart (MVP).
