With two months until the NHL's trade deadline, there are going to be plenty of rumours swirling and with the Canucks' success so far this season, there's no doubt that they'll be a team to watch.

With the Canucks wanting to add a top-six forward, it may come at a hefty cost, depending on which player they decide target and one player they could use in a package is Andrei Kuzmenko.

Now, it's not a foregone conclusion that the Canucks are willing to move Andrei Kuzmenko, but things don't appear to be too positive right now for the Russian forward after he's been made a healthy scratch on several occasions this season, one year after a 39-goal campaign.

While it's always important to take things with a grain of salt at this time of year, according to reports, the Buffalo Sabres are one team that could have interest in Andrei Kuzmenko, if Patrik Allvin decides to trade him.

One name the Canucks could target from the Buffalo Sabres, which was mentioned earlier on Monday, is Jordan Greenway, who has one year left on his contract beyond the current season. A trade proposal rose from the rumors:

The trade proposition includes the Buffalo Sabres sending Jordan Greenway, a 2024 2nd-round draft pick, and a 2026 3rd-round draft pick to the Canucks in exchange for Andrei Kuzmenko.

Kuzmenko, 27, has 19 points (eight goals, 11 assists) in 33 games this season and has one year left on his contract after the 2023-24 season with an average annual value (AAV) of $5.5 million.
