It's very early, but in their first two games, the Canucks have looked strong and will head into Tuesday's game in Philadelphia with their heads high after Saturday's performance.
Last night, the Canucks took on the Edmonton Oilers for the second time in four days. Despite goals from Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, the Oilers weren't able to find a way to get the win in their home opener as Vancouver walked away with the two points, beating Edmonton by a score of 4-3.
It was a night of firsts in Edmonton as well for the Vancouver Canucks. Sam Lafferty, acquired one week ago from Toronto, scored his first goal with the Canucks. Meanwhile, goaltender Casey DeSmith picked up his first win with the Vancouver Canucks. DeSmith was acquired by Allvin in September from Montreal.
With two wins in their first two games and 12 goals in the process, the Canucks are off to their best start to a season in seven years. The Canucks opened the 2016-17 season 4-0 after wins against Calgary, Carolina, St. Louis and Buffalo.
The positive vibes around the team are great, and fans are excited to see what they have in store for the rest of the 2023-24 campaign.
