LATEST | NHL makes a statement regarding Canucks goaltender Casey DeSmith
The Vancouver Canucks took on the Minnesota Wild at Rogers Arena on Thursday night and head coach Rick Tocchet decided to give Casey DeSmith a start between the pipes.
DeSmith played quite well throughout the game, making 26 saves for the shutout as the Canucks defeated the Wild by a score of 2-0.

After the game, Sportsnet Stats on X made a post about Casey DeSmith, saying that he's the 36th goaltender in Vancouver Canucks franchise history to record a shutout.

The 32-year-old has played very well for the canucks since being traded to them by Montreal before the season began. In nine games, DeSmith has a record of 5-2-1 with a 2.57 goals against average, a .917 save percentage and one shutout.
With the win, the Canucks improve to 17-9-1 on the season and will be back in action on Saturday night against the Carolina Hurricanes at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET.
