Rick Dhaliwal of CHEK TV was a guest on 'Sekeres and Price' earlier this week and had some promising things to say about J.T. Miller and compared him to a former Canucks forward who was a leader on and off the ice.

"I like J.T. Miller a lot. I think he's an honest player. He's got a lot of Kesler in him. He's going to tell you what he's thinking, he doesn't have to like you, he doesn't want to like you. When he was asked about the media today, he said 'I can't stand some of those guys in the Vancouver media'. But I'm going to say this, and I will say this about, the last 11 years in this city have been tough. It's been tough on the media, it's been tough on the players, there's been a lot of losing." Dhaliwal said.

Miller's comments about the media and other topics from the 'Cam & Strick podcast' went viral this week, but his overall tone from that episode showed a person who truly cared about being a Vancouver Canuck and that loved being in the city.

While a lot of fans are wanting and expecting either Elias Pettersson or Quinn Hughes to be named the team's new captain ahead of the 2023-24 season, don't count out J.T. Miller and if he's not wearing the 'C' on his uniform, he'll most certainly be apart of that leadership group and have an 'A' on his chest.

The 30-year-old is set to enter the first year of an eight-year contract worth $8 million per season that'll keep him in Vancouver through the 2029-30 season. Regardless of what your opinion is on J.T. Miller, he's here for the long haul and Canucks fans need to get behind him.
