Canucks issue a statement regarding Carson Soucy
The Vancouver Canucks have issued a statement regarding defenceman Carson Soucy.
In a post on social media on Saturday, the Vancouver Canucks shared a video featuring some clips of Carson Soucy from last season and wished him a Happy Birthday as he turned 30-years-old today.
"Happy birthday, Carson Soucy! 🎂" The Canucks said.
The Viking, Alberta native joined the Vancouver Canucks as an unrestricted free agent in July 2023. He inked a three-year deal with the Canucks that'll keep him in Vancouver until the end of the 2025-25 season and is earning $3.25 million per season.
During his first season with the Vancouver Canucks, he was limited to only 40 games during the regular season after missing 42 due to injury. He suffered an injury to his left foot in November after blocking a shot, followed by a fracture to his knuckle in January, also after blocking a shot, that kept him out of the lineup for six weeks.
In 40 games last season, Soucy put up six points (two goals, four assists), 12 penalty minutes and was a plus-ten. He followed that up by registering five points (one goal, four assists) and six penalty minutes in 12 games during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Everyone here at Canucks Daily would like to wish Carson Soucy a Happy Birthday and are looking forward to seeing him back on the ice this fall!
