A prospect has officially departed the Vancouver Canucks organization on Tuesday morning.

The Vancouver Canucks' AHL affiliate in Abbotsford will be down another defenceman for the 2024-25 season. Earlier this month, the team lost Nick Cecik and Matt Irwin, among other to free agency and one of those UFAs has finally found a new home.

In a post on X on Tuesday, the Milwaukee Admirals, American Hockey League affiliate for the Nashville Predators, announced that they've agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way (AHL/ECHL) contract with free agent defenceman Chad Nychuk.

"The Ads announced today that the team has signed defenseman Chad Nychuk to a one-year, two-way (AHL/ECHL) contract." The team said in a statement.

Nychuk, 23, joined the Vancouver Canucks organization in the summer of 2022, signing a one-year AHL contract with Abbotsford after spending the previous four seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Brandon Wheat Kings.

The Rossburn, Manitoba native was re-signed by the Abbotsford Canucks for the 2023-24 season and like he did the year prior, split time between the AHL and the ECHL's Kalamazoo Wings.

In 13 games for Abbotsford, Nychuk put up three points (two goals, one assist), 12 penalty minutes and had an even-rating. Meanwhile, in the ECHL, Nychuk appeared in 24 games where he registered 12 points (one goal, 11 assists), two penalty minutes and was a minus-one. He also had three points in four games during the playoffs with Kalamazoo.
