The injury bug is making its way through the Vancouver Canucks locker room this season and the latest victim is d-man Filip Hronek.
We have already scene Brock Boeser and Derek Forbort go down with injuries that have kept them from playing for a significant amount of time.
Now, Hronek is dealing with two separate injuries that could not have come at a more costly time.
During the half-way point of the Vancouver Canucks recently concluded 6-game road trip, Filip Hronek was injured by defenseman Jack St. Ivany when they faced off against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Although Hronek was favoring his upper body, the recent announcement by general manager Patrik Allvin and the Vancouver Canucks turned some heads when they disclosed he went in for a lower body procedure.
Confusion started to grow as it was confirmed he also had an upper body injury.
NHL reporter Patrick Johnston cleared up some of the confusion why Hronek has a lower body procedure done and why the timeline for his recovery and return is sitting around 8-weeks.
He disclosed that he heard Hronek's upper body injury (Shoulder), will take about 8 to recover, and because of the lengthy timeframe, the team decided to go ahead with fixing some nagging injuries he is dealing with, which will take fewer than 8 weeks to recover from.
Regardless, the time frame for his return is about 8 weeks, and it was fully confirmed after the Vancouver Canucks placed Hronek on Long Term Injured Reserve.
