The Vancouver Canucks headed into Saturday night's game against the Edmonton Oilers without an important piece of their forward group - Brock Boeser - after a dirty hit forced him to leave the team's last game against the Kings.
While it's unclear when Brock Boeser could return to the Vancouver Canucks lineup, Head Coach Rick Tocchet spoke with reporters on Saturday afternoon and discussed the injury to his forward.
Rick Tocchet told reporters this afternoon that Brock Boeser is out indefinitely and that the forward doesn't feel great right now, but things can change, whether that be tomorrow, a few days or a week. Meanwhile, Patrik Allvin said that Brock Boeser is still being evaluated and his timeline is TBD.
During the first period of Thursday's game in Los Angeles, Brock Boeser was hit in the head by Kings forward Tanner Jeannot. Boeser fell to the ice in pain, left the game and did not return. Meanwhile, the officials convened and decided to hand Tanner Jeannot a match penalty for illegal check to the head.
The National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety summoned Tanner Jeannot for a hearing and eventually, the 27-year-old was handed a three-game suspension. He'll be eligible to return to Los Angeles' lineup on Saturday, November 16th against the Detroit Red Wings.
Vancouver isn't set to face the Los Angeles Kings again until January 16th at Rogers Arena, but it's safe to say that will be a rough game and Tanner Jeannot will likely have to answer the bell.
