After an incredibly successful road trip in California where they Swept the L.A Kings, Anaheim Ducks and San Jose Sharks, The Canucks return home to Rogers Arena to take on the divisional rival Edmonton Oilers and attempt to win their 4th straight game.
With Daniel Sprong being dealt to the Seattle Kraken today and Brock Boeser still sitting on the sidelines since taking a dirty high hit from L.A. Kings forward Tanner Jeannot, head coach Rick Tocchet has been forced to shuffle his lines.
As a result of all the roster moves, the team announced this morning that they recalled promising prospects Arshdeep Bains and Nils Aman from AHL Abbotsford.
For the first time this season, Canucks fans will see a brand new top-2 lines featuring Nils Hoglander moving up into the top-6, where he will play alongside Elias Pettersson and Jake DeBrusk.
Using DeBrusk as a Segway, he will be sliding down to the second line to make room for Pius Suter, who has been hot the last 3 games. Most notably Conor Garland is now getting his shot on the top line with Suter and J.T. Miller.
The Canucks have been rolling their last 9 games, so it will be interesting to see how these brand new line combinations work for head coach Rick Tocchet. We would not be surprised if there was a lot of shuffling and changes taking place mid-game if the chemistry is not there.

The Vancouver Canucks are not taking any chances in net tonight as they will be going back to the red hot Kevin Lankinen. He currently holds a 7-0-2, .923 SV%, 2.08 Goals against average and 1 shutout.
After losing their first 3 games of the 2024-2025 NHL season, The Canucks now sit at 7-1-1 in their last 9 games and have a difficult test tonight as they go for 4 in a row as they face-off against the Oilers.
