In three starts last week, Demko had a record of 3-0-0 along with a 0.81 goals against average, a .969 save percentage and a shared shutout on Saturday night with Casey DeSmith.
Demko left Saturday's game with an undisclosed injury and had to be replaced by Casey DeSmith during their 5-0 win over the Winnipeg Jets. This morning, it was revealed that Demko will miss some time with that injury, but the good news is that it's not related to his groin which he dealt with for a significant period of time during the 2022-23 season.
It's unclear when Demko will return between the pipes for the Canucks, but for now Rick Tocchet will have to lean on Casey DeSmith and likely Arturs Silovs, the latter of whom will probably be called up by the team at some point on Monday or Tuesday.
The Canucks will return to action on Wednesday night at Rogers Arena as they host the red-hot Colorado Avalanche. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. PT/10:30 p.m. ET on Sportsnet Pacific.
