NHL Insiders Suggest Vancouver Canucks Trade Nils Hoglander to Penguins For Defenseman Marcus Petterson
NHL insiders Elliotte Friedman and Rick Dhaliwal mention that the Vancouver Canucks could be sending over forward Nils Hoglander to the Pittsburgh Penguins for d-man Marcus Pettersson.
With all the trade speculation, two separate NHL insiders suggested that fans should keep a close eye on trade activity as the Pittsburgh Penguins are very interested in forward Nils Hoglander.
On the flip, side the Vancouver Canucks have already expressed their interest in upgrading their defense, and many reports have indicated that Marcus Pettersson would be a good fit..
The 23-year-old, 20+ goal scorer Nils Hoglander has has some issues this season, and a lot of it may not be his fault.
Rick Tocchet has given him a career low in ice time, and has only played him in the bottom-6 forward group, despite being a proven goal scorer.

The Canucks are in a position where they have other holes in their lineup that they need to address, and using Hoglander as their main trade pieces makes a lot of sense to get their d-man they have been searching for.
«I think there are some teams that are very interested, I think Pittsburgh would be one of those teams,» said Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman on the 32 Thoughts podcast.
The same idea was suggested by Canucks reporter and Insider Rick Dhaliwal on today's episode of CHEK's Donnie & Dhali.
«He's signed, and Pittsburgh makes a lot of sense.»
«Get the trade watch going, Penguins are really super interested,» added CHEK's Rick Dhaliwal on today's episode of Donnie & Dhali.
With all the reports that have been released, including the most important one, where Penguins general manager Kyle Dubas told the media that Marcus Pettersson is available, the Canucks have a real opportunity to get a good exchange for a player they clearly are not happy with.
