The Vancouver Canucks are still with out their star forward J.T. Miller after it was announced he would be stepping away from the team for personal reasons.
It was confirmed that his leave was not related to substance abuse issues, nor an injury, but was more the case of needing a mental reset.
But, as Miller's absence continues to loom over the Canucks, especially with out much explanation, speculation has started to rumble.
On the most recent episode of the Cam & Strick Podcast, hosted by former NHLers Cam Jansen and St. Louis Blues reporter Andy Strickland, started to talk about what they have been hearing about the reasons for J.T. Miller's absence from the Canucks.
They disclosed that is it not a surprise to anyone that Miller has a reputation of owning a dressing room and being hard on his fellow teammates.
They said that even though Miller supposedly took this leave on his own accord, they believe it could be for another reason.
The game before Miller stepped away, when the Canucks were facing the Nashville Predators, Rick Tocchet ended up benching Millerbenching Miller for the entire 3rd period, stating he wanted the guys on the ice that gave the best chances for them to win.
Cam Jansen and Any Strickland speculate that after his benching, he and Rick Tocchet may have had it out with one another, where he easily could have crossed a line, leading to the team suggesting that Miller step away from the team to get his mind straight.
