NHL issues a statement on Canucks defenceman Nikita Zadorov
Nikita Zadorov's been one of the Canucks top asset ever since Patrik Allvin acquired him from the Calgary Flames. The 'Big Z' is well known for his energy, his physicality and the leadership he brings to the team.
In the Canucks' first two playoffs the veteran defenceman collected a goal and an assist. With points in two straight games, the Russian defenseman could accomplish a feat that hasn't been done in Vancouver in the last 20 years:
Nikita Zadorov will look to achieve a @Canucks feat that hasn't been seen in more than 20 years when Vancouver contests Game 3 tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET on @SportsonMax and @Sportsnet. #StanleyCup.
Zadorov has clearly shown his use to the club and as he nears full autonomy on July 1st, it would probably be in the team's best interest to renew him for a longer period of time. The Canucks will be playing both on Friday and on Sunday in Nashville and they'll try to get their lead back.
