Nikita Zadorov's agent calls out a false report on his client's extension talks
Sportsnet writer Iain MacIntyre broke social media when he dropped a bombshell in regards to two of the Canucks' top pending free agents, Nikita Zadorov and Elias Lindholm.
Massive turnaround on free agency: Lindholm and Zadorov both coming back?
MacIntyre addressed the Zadorov and Lindholm situation, suggesting that although there hadn't been many conversations between their respective parties, significant traction had occurred very recently:
Amid Canuck coaching news the last couple of weeks, there has been significant traction in contract talks w UFAs Nikita Zadorov and Elias Lindholm. Maybe neither re-signs, but it's possible the Canucks could keep both players.
The news spread and people got reasonably exciteduntil Zadorov's agent came out and called the report fake.
Jim Rutherford and Patrik Allvin have been known to lead tidy pieces of information to get things moving, as recently occurred with Elias Pettersson. The Canucks had leaked parts of their trade conversation sending the Swede to the Hurricanes, are they trying to do something similar here? Is that a pitiful attempt to get the talks going?
