Nikita Zadorov's Agent Dan Milstein Breaks Silence on the Vancouver Canucks' Efforts on Acquiring Him
Former Canucks defenseman Nikita Zadorov's agent Dan Milstein has commented on if his client will be joining a new team or not and if the Canucks have been calling.
Yesterday (Nov 21), NHL insider Elliotte Friedman speculated that Boston Bruins defenseman Nikita Zadorov could potentially be a good fit to return to his former team.
Now, it appears those rumors will be put to rest.
"Big Z" left the team in free agency back in July to sign with the Boston Bruins, with fans actually rejoicing his departure.
But as Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin is in search for a top-4 defenseman, NHL insider and Sportsnet analyst Elliotte Friedman decided to throw some chaos into the rumor mill, to suggest Zadorov may be coming back to the Canucks.
"Weird idea that may only make sense to me: Nikita Zadorov back to Vancouver. No idea if even possible, or if anyone would want it, but he was a good fit and the Canucks miss him." Friedman said.
Nikita Zadorov's Agent Dan Milstein Comments on Zadorov's Potential Return to the Vancouver Canucks
Even with out confirmation, the deal to bring back Zadorov really would not make much sense.
Zadorov earns $5 million AAV in salary that the Canucks do not have, even if a trade were to be made.
All the speculation came to halt when ChekTV's Rick Dahliwal of Donnie and Dhali messaged Zadorov's representative Dan Milstein, to comment if the Canucks are involved on making this rumor a reality.
Milstein wrote that the Canuck's have not been making any attempts to bring back the 6'6 d-man from Boston.
According to Dhali, he texted Dan Milstein last night and the agent has not heard Canucks are going after Zadorov yet.
All in all, the Canucks seem to have no interest in bringing back Zadorov, especially for the salary that he is earning.
The only case that would make sense is if the Bruins would retain a large portion of his salary, and after signing just a few months back, that seems extremely unlikely.
