After landing in Ottawa last night, the Vancouver Canucks took to the ice this afternoon for practice at Canadian Tire Centre, home of the Senators.
While it seems unlikely that he'll be back in the lineup tomorrow night, the Vancouver Canucks got some good news on Friday regarding injured forward Brock Boeser.
According to Sportsnet's Iain MacIntyre, Brock Boeser was on the ice this afternoon for practice with the Canucks, sporting a non-contact sweater.
Boeser, 27, hasn't played since November 7th against the Los Angeles Kings, when he was hit in the head by Tanner Jeannot, who was booted from the game after being given a match penalty for illegal check to the head.
The National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety reviewed the hit, as they do with any match penalty called, and determined that it was worthy of a suspension, handing Tanner Jeannot three-game ban.
Boeser's injury has been unfortunate for both him and the Vancouver Canucks as he was off to a great start and looked well on his way to becoming a 40-goal scorer once again, which would help him in a big way as he's set to become a UFA in July.
In 12 games, the Burnsville, Minnesota native has 11 points (six goals, five assists), six penalty minutes and has an even-rating.
While it's uncertain when Brock Boeser will return to game action with the Canucks, the fact that he's skating with the club at practice is a good sign and it wouldn't be a surprise if he's playing at some point on the road trip.
