With news coming out today about ticket sales and uniforms for the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off, many have been wondering what the final rosters will look like and for Canucks fans, how many on Vancouver's roster will represent their respective countries at the tournament.
It seems like a sure bet that for the United States, Brock Boeser and J.T. Miller will join Quinn Hughes on their roster for the tournament. The Canucks won't likely have anyone on Canada's roster, but Kevin Lankinen could be in the mix for Finland's.
Sweden's roster is where things get interesting for the Vancouver Canucks. While Elias Pettersson, despite his slow start, seems like a shoo-in to be on the final roster, another player to keep an eye on is Nils Hoglander, who's coming off a career-year in 2023-24.
During Tuesday's edition of Donnie & Dhali, Sweden's head coach Sam Hallam told the duo that Nils Hoglander is on their radar for a roster spot and they're going to wait and see what he's able to do in November ahead of the December 1st submission deadline.
Last season, Hoglander had 24 goals and 36 points in 80 games during the regular season, but didn't have a great showing during the Stanley Cup Playoffs, registering just two points in 11 games. Because he had such a strong season, a couple days before the 2024-25 campaign began, the Canucks signed Hoglander to a three-year extension worth $3 million per season.
Sam Hallam was also asked about Elias Pettersson, who's having a pretty slow start to the 2024-25 campaign. Hallam said that it's too early on in the season to be worrying about his slow start and that he's confident in Elias Pettersson.
The 2025 4 Nations Face-Off will get underway on February 12th in Montreal with Sweden taking on Canada, followed by the United States and Finland playing their first game the next day.
