The Chicago Blackhawks made the trip to Vancouver on Saturday night in what was Connor Bedard's first game in his hometown, with a number of family and friends in attendance at Rogers Arena.
Bedard and the Blackhawks would go on to fall 4-1 to Vancouver, with former Canucks forward Ilya Mikheyev scoring Chicago's lone goal of the game.
Following the game, Connor Bedard was a guest on 'After Hours' with Scott Oake, where he dived into a number of topics, including cheering for the Vancouver Canucks growing up.
Growing up, Connor Bedard was a huge fan of the Vancouver Canucks and he even said that he remembers he remembers crying for a week following their loss in the 2011 Stanley Cup Final to the Boston Bruins.
During his appearance on 'After Hours', Bedard shared with Scott Oake that growing up, his favourite Vancouver Canuck was defenseman Chris Tanevv, who spent ten seasons with the club between 2010-11 and 2019-20 before signing in Calgary.
As David Quadrelli of Canucks Army mentions in his post on X below, Connor Bedard has also revealed in recent years that his favourite Vancouver Canuck was Tyler Motte, who was loved in the city during parts of five seasons.
After a strong rookie campaign in 2023-24 which earned him the Calder Trophy, Bedard has just three goals (along with ten assists) in 18 games. Overall, the Blackhawks haven't been very good this season, but that's to be expected with any rebuilding team. They currently sit seventh in the Central Division with a record of 6-11-1.
Connor Bedard will look for a better outcome the next time Chicago makes the trip up to Vancouver, which is set for Saturday, March 15th at 7 pm PT as part of Hockey Night in Canada.
