Roster Move - Vancouver Canucks announce roster move with defenseman Elias Pettersson
The Vancouver Canucks have announced today a roster move involving defenseman Elias Pettersson as they are recalling him for the AHL Abbotsford Canucks.
According to Vancouver Canucks sources, Elias Pettersson (Defenseman) has been Abbotsford best d-man this year, and now he gets his shot back with the big club in Vancouver.
The move to recall Pettersson comes after it was announced that Derek Forbort was moved to the injured list after suffering an injury during practice last week that saw him leave the ice early.
The 20-year-old Vasteras, Sweden native was drafted back 22022 when the Canucks selected him with the 80th pick in the 3rd round.
In 15 games this season for the Abbotsford Canucks, Pettersson may not be a star offensively, only recording 4 assists, but has been the teams best defensive/shutdown d-man.
Don't expect flashy numbers from Elias Pettersson (D-Petey).
Instead, expect a smart, two-way defender who skates well and makes life miserable for his opponents-oh, and he's bringing back the hip check.
One thing is for sure, is that due to him sharking the exact same name as the superstar forward, the commentators and broadcasters are going have them self a challenge relaying which one has the puck when the are on the ice together.
