Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes is well on his way to being the greatest blueliner in franchise history and a Hockey Hall of Famer was full of praise for him recently.

Quinn Hughes has been one of a few bright spots in an up-and-down season for the Vancouver Canucks so far and it's looking like he has a legit shot at back-to-back 90+ point campaigns.

Throughout the course of the season so far, Quinn Hughes has continued to show how special of a player he is and that when all is said and done, he'll be known as the greatest defenseman in franchise history.

Back in December, Hughes put himself into elite company on a few occasions including breaking Alexander Edler's all-time assists record by a defenseman and entered the top-ten for goals by a defenseman in Canucks history.

People around the sport know how great of a player Quinn Hughes is and recently, he drew some high praise from one of the best defenseman to ever lace them up - Ray Bourque.

Ray Bourque full of praise for Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes

Hockey Hall of Fame defenseman Ray Bourque recently spoke with Rob Simpson of Vancouver Hockey Insider and spoke highly of Quinn Hughes saying that he's a special player and that even the little details in his game are very impressive.

"Whenever they're playing, he's always part of the highlights, he's pretty special," Bourque said. "He's frickin' good."

He added, "He sees it in a special way, he sees things way before other guys see it, and you can tell he makes it look easy. A lot of the stuff he does, the subtleties of his game, that's the stuff for me that really stands out. The subtle stuff that a normal fan won't even notice or appreciate because it looks so easy."

The next target for Quinn Hughes will be to break the franchise record for points by a defenseman, which is currently held by Alexander Edler who had 409 during his 15 years as a Vancouver Canuck.

Quinn Hughes needs just 29 more points to tie Alexander Edler and 30 to become the new all-time points leader by a defenseman in franchise history and there's a very good chance we'll see him reach that milestone before the 2024-25 season comes to a close.
