Rick Tocchet gives an update on forward Elias Lindholm
There has been plenty of worry surrounding an injury that Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Lindholm has been dealing with, but on Wednesday, Rick Tocchet gave an update.
Rick Tocchet met with the media on Wednesday and told reporters that he's not concerned or worried about the injury Lindholm is dealing with, calling it something that's nagging him a little and that it's getting better with each passing day.
"I'm not really concerned. I think it's just it's something a little nagging, that's getting better every day. That's the way you got to look at it," Tocchet said.
"I mean, not to the best of my knowledge. I would say no," Tocchet added when asked if Lindholm's injury is more challenging to deal with than the medical staff thinks.
Lindholm's injury is undisclosed, but it's certainly positive the team believes it's only something minor he's dealing with. While there's no timeline for his return, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported on Saturday night that Lindholm was going to meet with a specialist to see what is going on with his injury and it's unclear when that appointment may happen or if it's already happened. For the Canucks, who paid a hefty price to acquire Lindholm, his time in Vancouver isn't going as anyone could have expected.
In 22 games for the Canucks since his trade from Calgary, the Boden, Sweden native has recorded nine points (five goals, four assists), four penalty minutes and is a minus-five.
