Rick Tocchet loses it at practice: Goes off on the players
Rick Tocchet had the players on the ice earlier and was outraged by their effort. The Canucks Head Coach went off and reminded them of the importance of the upcoming games.
As we draw closer to the playoffs, the intensity and importance of every repetition increase daily. The Head Coach, heated following a drill, made sure everybody was well aware of what was going down:
Tocchet is heated on the drawing board right now:
"We have ten fucking games left. We gotta fucking focus." #Canucks
Following the practice, Tocchet was made available to the media and opted to clear the air. Everybody has taken notes regarding little on-ice tantrums. As expected, the Canucks' head coach pointed at the issue and expressed the need for urgency before the playoffs start:
"At this point of the season you've got to train your mind now. It's going time. Ten games left. You've got to do some details most of the time now. This is not November hockey."
The Canucks will step on the ice for game 73 on Thursday; they'll have the Dallas Stars down for a visit. The former Canuck Chris Tanev will be in town for the first since being traded from Calgary.
