Patrik Allvin announced earlier today that the Canucks had retroactively moved Thatcher Demko to the Long-Term Injury Reserve.

This move will therefore give the Canucks the flexibility to add Dakota Joshua back into the line-up. Still, it will also guarantee that the Canucks' netminder will be sidelined until April 6th, at the minimum. At this point, only six games will remain on the Canucks' schedule.

DEMKO RETURNING FOR THE PLAYOFFS?

Rick Dhaliwal gave an essential update on the subject earlier and revealed that, according to his sources, Demko would play 2 or 3 games before the playoffs.

'Streets are saying Demko will play 2-3 games before the playoffs.''

Over their last five games, the Canucks are meant to play the Golden Knights (April 8th), the Coyotes (April 10th), the Oilers (April 13th), the Flames (April 16th) and the Jets(April 18th). Three of those games were against playoff teams.

At this point, we're hoping Demko heals properly and comes back in form just as great as he was before his injury. This year, the Canucks' starting netminder played in 49 games, maintaining a 34-13-2 record, allowing 2.47 goals against average and stopping 91.7% of the shots sent his way.

His last playoff appearance will be remembered when he showed that he deserved the net over Jacob Markstrom. Demko will now have another opportunity to show that he takes his game to a new level when the stakes are at their highest.
