The Canucks roster was revealed earlier, and for a fifth game in a row, the Canucks' star forward J.T. Miller was left out.
Tocchet was once again asked why the number 9 wasn't being inserted into the lineup as the Canucks were preparing for their meeting with the Oilers.
In an interview with Ben Kuzma, the team's head coach revealed that Miller had been left out because he wanted to «work on certain things». The fact that Miller needed to work on certain on ice things that required him to be left out of the roster has raised concern among the fans.
On the positive side of things, Miller did rank amongst the team's best in testing. Showing the great shape in came into camp.
While Tocchet didn't go any further in his explanation, he did confirm that the Canucks top scorer would be in the line-up for the Canucks' final pre-season game against the Oilers.
Coming off a career high season in points and goals, the expectations are as high as they've ever been for J.T. Miller. Under Rick Tocchet, not only have we seen a completely new 200 foot hockey player, but we've been witnessing the makings of an incredible leader and even the younger Canucks are talking about it. Hopefully Tocchet lives up to his comment he we finally get to see Miller jump on the ice and face Connor McDavid on Friday.
