Thatcher Demko hopes to wear new mask in a game this season, if that time comes...

It was announced this week that Vancouver Canucks goalie Thatcher Demko has had a special mask designed to rock this season, but the question remains, when will that will be?
It is great that Demko is excited to wear his new mask, but fans have grown frustrated with the attention it is getting when there is a clear lack of updates regarding his injury,
«I haven't worn it on the ice yet,» the 28-year-old goalie for The Vancouver Canucks says. «I just got my hands on it last week. And I was able to go through it and see it in person. That's always super-fun, as a player. You go through the design process, you see some pictures and videos and some updates along the way.
Demko Talks about the design process
Demko added that the mask he wears is a special thing for him, he uses it as a chance to honor loved ones, and showcase the things he loves in general. By keeping it on his mask, he can have a constant reminder of what is in important.
«We wanted to use some of the older Vancouver logos,» Demko says, adding the design also honours former Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo - reportedly an 'idol' of Demko growing up - as well as honour two of Demko's friends who have died.
He added that he is super involved in the process for those reason and is not scared to speak up when h does not like something.
«I like to be involved. I'm pretty picky with it,» Demko says. «If I don't like something, I don't mind letting Trav know. And I think vice versa.»
Will Demko get to debut his new mask this season?
As stated earlier, fans are eagerly waiting for Demko's return but are growing frustrated that the team is not keeping fans informed. Unfortunately, the story is the same here as Demko, nor the Canucks were able to offer confirmation on the date of his return will be.
«I'm just going through the process, and it's obviously been frustrating,» Demko says. «Hopefully I'll get the mask on in a game this year, sooner rather than later.»
