Trade Rumor - Vancouver Canucks Reportedly Likely to Trade Brock Boeser Before Deadline
A former NHLer has shared some new information regarding the Vancouver Canucks on the trade market and pending UFA forward Brock Boeser.
It's going to be a busy time for the Vancouver Canucks and Patrik Allvin on the trade market as he examines his options with regards to players currently on the NHL roster.
Earlier this month it was reported by Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman that the Vancouver Canucks were exploring the market for J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson, but it appears another forward has entered the mix to potentially be dealt by Patrik Allvin.
Brock Boeser reportedly likely to be traded by Vancouver Canucks ahead of deadline
On Wednesday, Nick Kypreos of Sportsnet shared some interesting information on Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser and his likelihood of being on the move before the trade deadline on Friday, March 7th.
Despite being a pending unrestricted free agent and contract talks with the Canucks "not close", Boeser's name hasn't really been out there that much in trade chatter around the league, until now.
Nick Kypreos is reporting that it is far more likely than not that the Vancouver Canucks trade Brock Boeser before the deadline in March.
"Make no mistake, the Canucks like their team overall, but don't feel they're in a position to rent their own player this season, which makes it far more likely than not Boeser gets traded before the deadline. Kiefer Sherwood's arrival and fit as a top-nine player with sandpaper to his game and a productive 13 goals in 43 games (third on the Canucks) is a huge plus that can help absorb the loss of Boeser, who has 15 goals in 36 games." Kypreos said. If the Vancouver Canucks were to go down the trade route with Brock Boeser, which is something they'd probably like to avoid, there's no question they could get a fairly decent return for the former 40 goal scorer.
This season, Boeser's production is down a bit, but he's still played well at times, registering 27 points (15 goals, 12 assists) in 36 games.
Only time will tell if Brock Boeser is dealt by the Canucks, but with just 51 days to go until the trade deadline, Patrik Allvin will have to act fast if he's going to move the former first-rounder or step up their effort to sign him to an extension.
