"Desperately Need Him" - Quinn Hughes' Honest Take on Filip Hronek's Importance to the Canucks Success
With the announcement that defenseman Filip Hronek will be returning to the lineup against the Winnipeg Jets tonight, Vancouver Canucks captain and partner Quinn Hughes commented on how much he means to the team.
The Vancouver Canucks have been riddled with the injury bug this season and has seriously effected their ability to build chemistry and win games consistently.
With Hronek finally coming back from from an upper body injury and lower body procedure that has kept him out since November, this will be the first time this season that the Canucks have all their stars playing together (Hughes, Brock Boeser, JT Miller, Elias Pettersson).
Vancouver Canucks Captain Quinn Hughes Comments on Filip Hronek's impact on the team
"Lankinen starts for #canucks. Hronek in for Brisbois. He'll start on a pairing with Hughes but Tocchet going to monitor his minutes." Dan Murphy of Sportsnet said on X.
When it was announced that Hronek would be joining the Canucks and replacing Brisbois on the blue line, Quinn Hughes spoke to the media about how much he means to the team and how desperate they are to have him back.
"He always looks great. Yeah, so happy I mean, I don't know what his plan is tomorrow, but I'm sure he'll be back in the next couple days, and we obviously desperately need him." Hughes said.
Quinn Hughes has been doing everything he can to carry the team when he is on the ice and the teams defense has been lacking in many areas, especially moving the puck effectively.
Hronek is an assured welcome as he will pick up a lot of slack that is brought on by the lack of depth.
