A pair of teams in the Eastern Conference have reportedly been given permission to speak with Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller.

Rumors surrounding Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller aren't going away anytime soon and it seems inevitable that the 31-year-old will be traded by the club before the NHL's deadline at 12 pm PT on Friday, March 7th.

Miller has been linked to a number of teams throughout the month of January ever since it was reported the Canucks were testing the market for him.

Over the weekend, Miller was almost traded to the New York Rangers, and was going to be held out of Saturday's game against Edmonton, but the deal fell through at last minute and he went on to register two assists in the win over the Oilers.

The New York Rangers interest in J.T. Miller is reportedly still high despite last weekend's trade falling apart and now, them along with another team in the Eastern Conference have permission to speak with the Canucks forward.

New York Rangers & Carolina Hurricanes granted permission to speak with J.T. Miller

In his latest 32 Thoughts article, Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman revealed that the Carolina Hurricanes and New York Rangers are two teams that have received permission to speak with J.T. Miller about a trade.

"The Hurricanes and Rangers are two of the teams with permission to talk to J.T. Miller." Friedman said.

Friedman went on to share that the Rangers' offer for J.T. Miller was Filip Chytil, a first-round pick and a prospects, while adding that he's getting mixed messaging on the New Jersey Devils' interest in the Canucks forward and that he's not convinced about the Dallas Stars being among those teams that could be a fit.

"Believe the New York offer was Filip Chytil, a first-rounder and a prospect. I get very mixed messages on New Jersey. The Rangers have the cap room to do it, but the Devils would need to perform roster surgery to pull it off. Yes, they struggled until pounding Boston on Wednesday, but that's a good team. I'm not convinced about Dallas, either. I always assume I'm missing something, though." Friedman said.

With the NHL's trade deadline just 43 days away, it seems very likely that J.T. Miller is entering his final days and weeks as a member of the Vancouver Canucks organization.
