Vancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers received some pretty big news from the National Hockey League on Wednesday morning.
Since December 31st, the National Hockey League has been announcing Quarter Century Teams for each of their 32 franchises, highlighting two goaltenders, four defensemen and six forwards who have made an impact over the last 25 years.
The Vancouver Canucks are set to have their Quarter Century Teams revealed by the National Hockey League ahead of next Tuesday's game against the Buffalo Sabres.
Speaking of those Buffalo Sabres, they had their Quarter Century Teams revealed on Wednesday morning and a face very familiar to Vancouver Canucks fans
was named to the team.
Tyler Myers named to Buffalo Sabres' second Quarter Century Team
On the blue line for the second Quarter Century Team for the Buffalo Sabres is none other than current Vancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers.
Myers was selected by Buffalo with the 12th overall pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft and went on to appear in 365 games with them across parts of six seasons where he had 151 points (45 goals, 106 assists), 256 penalty minutes and was a minus-31.
In February 2015, the Buffalo Sabres moved on from Tyler Myers, sending him to the Winnipeg Jets along with Drew Stafford,
Joel Armia, Brendan Lemieux and a 2015 first-round pick in exchange for a package that included current Edmonton Oiler
Evander Kane.
"The 6-foot-8 Myers went from a raw, unpolished prospect when he was selected No. 12 in the 2008 draft, to an all-around player who ranks fourth among Buffalo defensemen in points (151) in this quarter century."
Joining Tyler Myers on the second Quarter Century Team for Buffalo is Chris Drury,
Jack Eichel, Derek Roy, Jay McKee and Dominik Hasek.
Meanwhile on Buffalo's first team, it features Daniel Briere, Jason Pominville, Thomas Vanek, Brian Campbell,
Rasmus Dahlin and Ryan Miller.
