It was a very tough start to the 2024-25 season for Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson.
The 26-year-old has been dealing with criticism since the season began, especially given the fact his new contract, that comes with an $11.6 million cap hit, kicked in this year.
While the month of October might not have been very kind to Elias Pettersson, he found a way to drown out the noise from the media and fan base in Vancouver, including by deleting all social media apps off his phone.
After Tuesday's loss to the New York Rangers, the Vancouver Canucks are officially 18 games into their season - nine games in October & nine games in November.
While the 18-game mark might not be that significant in the grand scheme of things, it's allowed for a deeper look at how Elias Pettersson has performed in each month, with an equal amount of games played so far in October and November.
In the month of October, Elias Pettersson struggled mightily, registering one goal, four points and 14 shots on net in those nine games.
However as the calendar flipped to November, Pettersson took his game to the next level and has shown that he is capable of being that player who registered over 100 points two seasons ago.
The Sundsvall, Sweden native has put up nine points (five goals, four assists) and 25 shots on net this month, a drastic increase compared to October, which is great news for the Vancouver Canucks going forward.
Elias Pettersson is now up to 13 points in 18 games this season and if he's able to continue grinding away and working hard as he's done this month, there's no doubt he could end the 2024-25 campaign as a point-per-game player.
