Earlier this week, the Boston Bruins became the first team in the National Hockey League to make a coaching change this season, firing Jim Montgomery after parts of three seasons at the helm.
The Bruins announced that associate coach Joe Sacco would be taking on the head coaching reigns on an interim basis while they search for their next permanent bench boss.
Montgomery won't be the only coach that'll lose their job this season, which is an unfortunate thing to say, but that's the nature of the business, there's not much wiggle room for error.
With that said, many have been wondering who could be on the hot seat right now and when the next coaching change could be coming.
The Hockey News released their new power rankings on Monday, with two main focuses - the overall play of the team recently as well as if their head coach should be on the hot seat.
Since last Wednesday when The Hockey News released their previous power rankings, the Vancouver Canucks have a record of 1-3-0, with their lone win coming against Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks.
It's been a tough start to the season at home for Rick Tocchet's group with a 3-5-3 record at Rogers Arena through 11 games, and this past week has been no exception, with the three losses as mentioned, all of which came in regulation.
Despite their poor play at home, Rick Tocchet's job is not in danger whatsoever as the team has bought into his system and have shown glimpses this season that they can be great, as they were last year.
The Hockey News has kept the Vancouver Canucks at 14th on their power rankings this week.
Rick Tocchet and the Canucks are set to embark on a six-game road trip starting on Saturday night against the Ottawa Senators and it's going to be interesting to see if they can continue their strong play away from Rogers Arena.
