Amid the injury and absence to Vancouver Canucks Captain Quinn Hughes, Head Coach Rick Tocchet sent very high praise to him after his first practice back with the team.
It is no surprise that the most valuable player for the Vancouver Canucks is captain Quinn Hughes.
He will most probably win his second consecutive Norris Trophy this season for the league best defenseman and if it keeps going, will compete for a Hart Trophy (Hart).
In his continued absence that has span since the NHL season resumed after the holiday break, it was presumed that Hughes hurt his hand against the Ottawa Senators on December 21st, but there has been no confirmation, just the fact he is not in the lineup.

His return can't come soon enough as the Canucks have slid outside of a playoff spot.
After practice, head coach Rick Tocchet spoke to the media about the impact Quinn Hughes has on the ice and in the locker room, saying he calms the people around him and is a great influence, which is needed amid all the drama surrounding the team.
Rick Tocchet on Quinn Hughes: "The way he acts around the guys... he's a calming influence. He's a hockey nerd. That helps a dressing room. On the ice, we know the impact he gives us. But I think people don't realize off the ice, what he does for our team is tremendous."
It has not been announced if Hughes will be in the lineup despite him running the powerplay in practice this morning.
