Amidst all of the trade rumors that suggest Vancouver Canucks will be moving on from their star forward J.T. Miller, the reason for his departure could be related to a ongoing rift with head coach Rick Tocchet and not Elias Pettersson.
JT Miller has been at the center of all drama and issues that carry a dark cloud over the Vancouver Canucks this season.
First, it was related to an ongoing feud with fellow teammate Elias Pettersson who have not had a workable relationship over the past couple of seasons.
But, the reason for the trade and the issues off the ice could be attributed to a major feud that does not involve JT Miller and Pettersson, but with head coach Rick Tocchet.
Confrontation with head coach Rick Tocchet led to JT Miller's leave of absence
With being at the center of attention, it has been revealed that a negative relationship between head coach Rick Tocchet and JT Miller could be the very reason for his imminent departure.
Multiple sources, including TSN's Farhan Lalji confirmed that a heated confrontation between Miller and Tocchet was the reason for the leave of absence.
It evens sounds if it was a team decision to "suspend" or give time off to the forward.
Farhan on Miller: What we understand was a confrontation (not physical) after this one game when he got benched and then the next day the organization announced he was going to take a personal leave.

If that is the case, the team has chosen to keep Tocchet over Miller in this situation.
But, it could be that the conjunction of issues with Tocchet, Pettersson and just pure underperformance this season has pushed the needle to trade him, and the confrontation with Tocchet as the breaking point.
