Vancouver Canucks Release Lineup For New Years Eve Matchup with the Calgary Flames
The Vancouver Canucks will be kicking off the first of eight games on the road against the Calgary flames tonight on New Years Eve, and head coach Rick Tocchet has his hands tied on what his lines and lineup will be.
After winning the Pacific Division last year, the expectations for the Canucks coming into the 2024-2025 season have never been higher, and with many injuries, lack of consistency and drama, on the eve of the New Year, their playoff spot is already under threat
Not even halfway into the season, the Vancouver Canucks are already chasing as they are just one loss in regulation to lose the playoff spot that they so desperately need.
Rick Tocchet Making No Changes to Vancouver Canucks Lines
With Elias Pettersson and captain Quinn Hughes both still out with an injury, head coach Rick Tocchet's hands are clearly tied as he has elected to not make any changes to his teams lineup.

The biggest aspect of the Canucks that will be tested today will be the defence, with both Quinn Hughes and Filip Hronek out, Derek Forbort and Tyler Myers are going to need to step up there game big time on the first pairing.
Hopefully, the Canucks can play like they did in the first 55 minutes of their contest against the Seattle Kraken, as you want to set the tone right with a win when starting a long road trip.
